In recent years Sheffield City Centre had become a more vibrant and active place to be. Major contributors are the business improvement district Sheffield BID which runs initiatives to improve the trading environment; Aberdeen Standard Investments which has invested £125m in regenerating The Moor; and Sheffield City Council who are progressing the £470m Heart of the City II development. All are collaborating with Sheffield Newspapers (JPI Media) to celebrate the work done so far by creating the second Sheffield City Centre Retail Awards.

COVID-19 is rewriting the rules of retail and the challenges faced by the high street are accelerating. This year our second Retail Awards will recognise the hard work that our retailers – shops and cafes – are doing to provide places to visit, shop, eat and drink – once again giving our City Centre a sense of pride as we start to recover from the pandemic.

The six award categories voted for by the public and our experienced judging panel cover successes in sales, customer service and celebrate individual and teamwork contribution.
